While reviewing the project, inquire if there are a set of plans and specifications illustrating how deep and to what diameter the post footing are to be dug.  If this information is not available, the following depths are recommended:

Commercial Gate Posts           48”                  10” – 12”

Cantilever Gate Posts               48”                  12” w/ slits in the posts
